About

Hi!
I’m Clare Tradgett, an artist and nature lover living in Sydney. Born and raised in Whitley Bay, a small coastal town in North-East England, I’ve always been drawn to the sea.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art in Leeds, I moved to Australia over a decade ago, and the stunning beaches here constantly inspire me.
My artwork revolves around my deep connection with nature, especially the ocean. It's the subtle details - like the shifting shades of blue or how light dances on the water - that captivate me.

I work mainly with paint, creating colourful, realistic seascapes that capture the ever-changing nature of the coast. My approach blends realism with a sense of expression, as I aim to bring out not just the scene but the feeling it evokes. I love getting lost in the intricate details, but I also want my work to be inviting - something that draws you in and makes you pause for a moment.
I’m incredibly lucky to live close to some of Sydney’s most beautiful beaches and I draw endless inspiration from the ocean. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll likely find me on the sand with a coffee, taking in the natural beauty around me.
